Is dry shampoo safe for dogs?

Yes — when it's made for them. Dry shampoos formulated for people often contain oils and fragrances that can irritate a dog's skin. Ours is a powder made specifically for dogs, free of anything known to be unsafe for them, and EWG Verified. The simplest rule: never use a product made for people.

What is EWG Verified pet care?

EWG is the Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit that sets independent standards for ingredient safety and transparency. EWG Verified is its highest mark — it means every ingredient has been fully disclosed and screened against the group's criteria for what's acceptable. In 2025 they introduced their first category for pet grooming, and Lil Luv Dog was the brand they launched it with.

Why does EWG Verified matter for pet products?

Pet grooming is barely regulated, so claims like "natural" and "gentle" carry no real weight — and what's safe for people isn't always safe for dogs. EWG Verification removes the guesswork: every ingredient is disclosed, screened against EWG's list of unacceptable ingredients, and held to a standard built for dogs. If it carries the mark, it has been vetted.

How often should I clean my dog between baths?

Less often than most people expect. A full bath every few weeks is plenty — more than that can strip the coat and dry the skin. In between, spot-clean as needed: wipe the paws after a walk, refresh after the park, or reach for the powder dry shampoo when the coat needs a pick-me-up. Every dog is different, so let coat and lifestyle set the pace.

Is Lil Luv Dog safe for puppies?

In most cases, yes. Our formulas are gentle and free of the ingredients known to be unsafe for dogs, which makes them well suited to most puppies. For very young puppies, or any with a skin condition, check with your veterinarian first — and as with any new product, start with a small area.

Are your products vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes to both. Our products are made without animal-derived ingredients, and we never test on animals at any stage — backed by Leaping Bunny certification, the most trusted standard for cruelty-free.

What does Leaping Bunny certified mean?

Leaping Bunny is the most trusted standard for cruelty-free certification, run by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics. It guarantees that neither the finished product nor its ingredients are tested on animals at any stage, backed by supplier monitoring, annual recommitment, and independent audits. Because "cruelty-free" has no legal definition on its own, the Leaping Bunny mark is real proof behind the words.

What makes your packaging sustainable?

We strive to innovate in packaging to reduce our footprint as best we can. We have invested in compostable, dissolvable, recycle ready and PCR and FSC Certified materials. We continue to aim to do more as we scale and as opportunity to innovate in packaging allows us to.

What does Climate Label certified mean?

The Climate Label is a certification from the Change Climate Project, a  nonprofit that certifies that a brand measures its full carbon footprint every year, commits to a reduction plan, and funds the low-carbon transition at a set rate per ton of emissions — tracked publicly and renewed annually. The standard is built around what a company does about its impact.

where do you ship?

We currently ship to the United States.

when will my order ship?

Please allow 3 business days (Monday to Friday, excluding federal holidays) for order processing. We will do our best to ship your order promptly, but will notify our shoppers if we are ever experiencing a shipping delay.

how much does shipping cost?

Orders over $75 ship free.

Orders below $75 will have an $8 flat shipping rate.

can I change the address on my order, or make any changes after placing my order?

Due to our quick processing time, we are unable to make changes to an order after it has been placed. However, if you reach out to woof@lilluvdog.com, we will always do our best to help find a solution.

return & exchanges

what is your return policy?

We accept returns within 30 days of purchase. Items must be unused, unopened, and in their original packaging – we do not accept returns of used items. We refund less cost of shipping for unused or damaged items, no exchanges. You will be refunded the full amount of the items. We are not able to refund the original or return shipping charges as these are paid directly to the carrier.

how long does it take to process a return?

In some circumstances, our customer support team may need to review your return request – please allow 1-2 business days to review. Once a return is dropped off and scanned by the shipping carrier, the return is processed – credit card refunds usually take 3-10 business days to appear on your statement.

what do I do if I am missing an item from my order?

Please email woof@lilluvdog.com within 48 hours of receiving your order with a photo of everything you received and the packaging. We'll make sure that you receive everything you've ordered.

what do I do if my package is missing or damaged?

If your order has been marked as delivered, but you haven't received it, please wait 3 business days before reaching out to woof@lilluvdog.com. Carriers sometimes preemptively mark a package as delivered before they actually complete the delivery. We also recommend checking with your building management, concierge, mailroom, or neighbors to see if they received the package for you.

If your package is damaged, or if product arrives damaged in any way, please reach out to woof@lilluvdog.com.

can I exchange my item?

At this time, we do not offer exchanges.

can I cancel my subscription?

All subscriptions can be cancelled after the first subscription offer is processed
